"John punched the thing across the mouth. The creature’s teeth flew from the rotting jaw in a single piece and landed on the floor a few feet away. Aside from losing its teeth, the creature seemed unfazed by the punch and dove into John’s neck. Weak muscles worked the jaws as it tried to chew into John’s throat. Disgusted, frightened and ticklish, John laughed as he screamed obscenities at the man that lie on top of him. “Haha, get off of meeheheh, you freehehehak.” He rolled out from under his attacker and scrambled back on all fours. He put his hand to his neck. There was no blood, no bite mark or even a hickey, but the entire area felt disgusted and embarrassed by the whole ordeal."I'm not sure what the extent of Funny Zombie Apocalypse genre is, but this book stands at the top of it.
As an added bonus, the passage about men and sports is best thing ever written about the subject.

I don't know why this gem doesn't have hundreds of five star reviews because it certainly deserves it. If you aren't already familiar with John, Chris, Erik and their nemesis the HOA president, Austin, then you should back up and read "The Big Book of Dumb White Husband" just for the sheer pleasure of it, if nothing else, but also because you'll have a better understanding of the history of these men and their relationships.
I confess I wasn't sure how well the author was going to handle the zombie apocalypse as it relates to middle aged men whose biggest accomplishment to date was working out how to put together bicycles, promoting the myth of the tooth fairy, getting everything on the list at the grocery story, scaring small children on Halloween, and keeping their wives happy (sorta). However, he did it with style.
I did not expect intense action and remarkable acts of bravery and I loved how every guy had an opportunity to prove his worth (even if he was screwing everything up a moment later).
If you have any doubts--then do yourself a favor and at least download the sample. You'll come back for more.

I started out with this author's free short story and was immediately hooked. Bought the first book and couldn't wait for the next. This story is laugh out loud good. Could really relate to characters and their responses. Guarantee you'll enjoy it too
omg, that was so much fun to read. every line was a clever quip. not only that, the book managed to stay hilarious and light-hearted even through its touching moments. it also supports my theory that the best-prepared and paranoid people help lucky people get even luckier.
It's here. The undead are walking the Earth, turning everyone in their path to zombies. You are still among the living and the only other living people you can find are those you hate the most. Finding the path to safety while keeping your least favorite people alive is going to be an adventure....when all of you are dumb white husbands, it's going to be hilarious. This is a very fun read and a great companion book to The Great Big Book of Dumb White Husband. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed this book. One of the few without the primary characters as a special ops guy who is undoubtedly prepared for the zombies! I found it refreshing, entertaining, and well-written. The dads are typical suburban professional types thrown into a situation they are not ready to accept, much less prepared to survive. One of the dads, John, will drive you to distraction but somehow make you laugh. If you're looking for a good, entertaining read you have picked the right book.
Of all the zombie apocalypse books ever written, this one rises well above scary and gross - it goes full idiot. It's as dumb as it is funny. And yet, you find yourself cheering on the idiots as they try to save themselves against what should be insurmountable odds.
Wholeheartedly recommended if you either already love the Dumb White Husband cast, or if you're simply looking for a fresh take on the "rising of the dead" scenario.
I have had this book in my kindle since October last year and am kicking myself for not reading it sooner! Loved it. It was funny, fun, and kept me turning the page. I'm a "Walking Dead" fan, so I really wanted to see how the ending turned out in "Dads versus Zombies" Stephen King says, "It's not the ending you should care about, it's the journey." And Benjamin takes you on a mesmerizing journey throughout the book.
