Mr. Melton has penned a fast-paced thriller that will keep your attention from start to finish. It's a page-turner and a half, that is nearly impossible to put down. Don't start reading it on an evening that you have to get a good night's sleep. Come the dawn, you'll still be riveted to the pages.The tale concerns the actions of a small group of Libyan sleeper agent to steal fissionable materials to enable the construction of atomic weapons by Muammar Gaddafi, and the Herculean efforts of a small group of FBI agents to thwart them.
The time frame is immediately following the U.S. attack on Gaddafi's Tripoli compound in retaliation for the Berlin nightclub bombing. The bad guys are really bad, although tinged with human frailty. The good guys are frail humans: basically good, but tinged with self-interest, bravado, self-doubt and ultimately, heroism. The final encounter and shoot-`em-up will stay vividly in your memory.
His characters are occasionally a bit wooden and stiff; not exactly clichés, but close. That doesn't matter. It's a great yarn, and will demand hours of your undivided attention. It is after all, escapist literature; so why worry about the technicalities? Just sit back and enjoy a thrilling tale, well-told.
I very much look forward to the movie. It should be a blockbuster!
